About Us

Tyndale Archers, founded in 1990, is a friendly group of enthusiastic archers based in Cam, near Dursley. The club attracts members from around South Gloucestershire and currently has active members from ages 12 to nearly 90! We are a primarily a target archery club, shooting at target faces on stands. That said, several of our members shoot with other organisations such as the British Longbow Society (BLBS) and the National Field Archery Society (NFAS). We are also the current organisers of the Gloucestershire Archery Society County Clout and as such encourage our members to give it a shot when we have the opportunity.

In the summer we make full use of the Cam Woodfield Junior school playing fields and the longer days for enjoyable evenings shooting outdoors on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. One Sunday a month, throughout the year, the club offers the opportunity to shoot all day. During the winter we shoot indoors at Rednock School and The Chantry Centre in Dursley. Both venues have a large indoor hall that allows us to get the full 20m/20yds for up to six bosses.

The club is open to anyone who wishes to just shoot as a hobby, or to those who want to be really competitive and achieve the ultimate level of Grand Master Bowman! Once you become a qualified member of the club, you are insured through Archery GB and become entitled to compete at any number of local and national tournaments, which take place all year round. We have several Level 1 Sport England Coaches and our Head Coach is a Level 2.

We are an inclusive club and proud to be awarded the status of On Target Community Club with Archery GB. The community club specialisms allows clubs to explore ways of getting to the heart of the community and giving as many people as possible easy access to the sport. That also means recognising potential barriers and finding solutions, so that people can enjoy a high-quality archery experience with excellent social, training and competition opportunities.

We look forward to seeing you sometime soon.
